On Calvary's cross, behold the One Who is God's Fellow and His Son, Accursèd there upon the tree, He died to set the guilty free. He "knew no sin," yet He must there God's righteous, holy judgment bear, Must suffer in our guilty stead, And numbered be among the dead. He's risen now, the work is done, And God has glorified His Son; Has set Him in the highest place, The source of rich, unbounded grace. Then to the Lord for refuge fly, For why, poor sinner, wilt thou die? Why wilt thou still refuse His call? Who seeks to save, who died for all.
