Blest be the tie that binds Our souls in Jesus’ love; The fellowship of kindred minds Is shared with Him above. Before our Father’s throne We pour our fervent prayers; In Christ our thoughts and hopes are one, Our comforts and our cares. We share each other’s woes, Each other’s burdens bear; And often for each other flows The sympathizing tear. When for a while we part, This thought will soothe our pain: That we shall still be joined in heart, And one day meet again. “That blessed hope” revives Our spirits by the way, While each in expectation lives And longs to see the day, When from all toil and pain And sin we shall be free, And we shall with the Saviour reign Through all eternity.
